Dear Prophet 21 users,

During these dramatic and unprecedented times, we are all trying to find our place in the world with the new normal that is being thrust upon all of us. I've spent my time of late trying to understand distance-learning for my kids and generally getting used to having everyone at home all day every day.

I have always worked from home, and my whole team is distributed across the globe, so our workflow has not changed much, but that cannot be said for many of you. Distribution companies rely on people doing hands-on work to get items to where they need to go and often involves one-on-one contact with your clients to understand their needs and deliver on your promises.

With social-distancing, distance-learning, and work-from-home becoming the norm, we are all in need of new forms of communication and efficiency in ways that may not have been necessary just a few short weeks ago. Add into that the unknown financial impact on everyone at every level, and we get a sense of urgency that I have not felt in all my years in business.

Considering everything that is happening, I have decided to add a new way to get started with an e-commerce website; I am calling it SimpleWeb Lite, or SW-Lite. The concept of SW-Lite will be to create a B2B e-commerce site that gives your customers and sales reps the tools to keep moving forward. 

SW-Lite will have access to the entire SimpleWeb B2B feature set, but it will be based on one template design for a standard look and feel of the site while making sure that you will have your own completely customizable website. The idea is to take your data from Prophet 21 as it is and use a standard designed template to get you started as quickly as possible. Depending on how long it takes to connect to your Prophet 21 server, this could be as quick as one to two weeks.

As time goes on and the SW-Lite design improves, everyone will get the improvements. As your data gets better, your site will be able to take advantage of the full B2B feature set of SimpleWeb. Eventually, you will have the opportunity to upgrade to a completely custom design if you want it.

That means that for $10,000.00, you will be able to get a fully functional B2B E-Commerce site in weeks with the option to upgrade the website to allow B2C customers at any point in the future.

In addition to all the features already on SimpleWeb, I will be creating training videos several times a week and doing a weekly zoom conference call for anyone who has questions about SimpleWeb, E-Commerce, or something in Prophet 21 that I might know. As more companies sign up, I will be adding more staff and servers to the system to handle the demand.

We are currently in the middle of a major re-write of the entire system. All the features of the new system will be available to all SimpleWeb clients as they are ready, and we hope to be showing off many of these new features at Connect 2020 in Dallas, Texas, in August of this year. Two of the significant features underdevelopment are a new Product Information Manager (PIM) that will be able to pull data, like weights and images, from trusted sources on the internet and push that data into your Prophet 21 database at your command, and an Audit tool that will analyze every aspect of SimpleWeb sites for known best practices in security, performance, SEO and data accuracy, making sure your site is constantly moving towards being the best in your field.

I have been a part of the extended Prophet 21 community for many years, and I consider my clients as friends and family more than business relationships. I've watched this community grow into something that always makes me want to come back for more, and now I want to give back what I can in a time of need.
