This version introduces our largest features since Go Live, with Category Attribute Search. Category Attribute Search allows a shopper to see all items in a category and all of it's subcategories and choose attributes that you define to filter the results.

The product line that we tested this on was a Signal Tower from Patlite that has multiple lights stacked on top of each other. The towers can have 1, 2, 3 or 4 lights and the list can be Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Clear. When looking at any of the parent categories that hold these items users are presented with options. When a user selection an option (Like Blue) then all items that do not have that attribute defined are removed.

This provides a quick way for users to filter through a large number of items for the exact item they are looking for.

Here is the change log for SimpleWeb 1.2.0:

  • Create Filter module for Category Attribute Search
  • Create Category module for Category Attribute Search
